PRACTICAL INFO
RUNNER'S COMMITMENT
The Verbier Ultra - Stage Race is a demanding long-distance semi-self-sufficient race on technical alpine trails. Our priority is that everyone can fully enjoy this adventure, which is why it is important to inform you about the requirements of the course and to make you aware of the associated risks. It is essential that you have the necessary experience to meet the challenges of the event and ensure your safety, regardless of the conditions.
To participate in the Bagnes Traverse - Stage Race it is essential:
-
To be fully aware of the length and difficulty of the event and to be adequately prepared.
-
To have acquired, prior to the race, a real understanding of personal autonomy in the mountains/terrain, allowing for the management of potential problems encountered during this type of event, notably:
-
The ability to confront, without outside assistance, changing climatic conditions that could be very difficult to manage at altitude (night, wind, cold, fog, rain, or snow).
-
The ability to manage, even when isolated, physical or mental problems arising from severe fatigue, digestive issues, muscle or joint pain, minor injuries, etc.
-
To be aware that the organization’s role is not to help a runner manage these problems.
-
To be aware that in the mountains, safety depends on the runner's ability to adapt to encountered or anticipated problems.
-
Being aware that the time barriers ensure the safety and enjoyment of the runners, it is essential to be sufficiently trained to finish each stage within the time barriers. If this is not the case, the organization reserves the right not to allow you to start the next stage.
-
To be aware that the Bagnes Traverse is a semi-self-sufficient race, so it is essential to be equipped and know how to use a GPS watch to navigate the course.
-
-
To be aware of the behaviors to adopt in the mountains to respect nature, other participants, and the race regulations.
-
Take responsibility for leaving the course in the event of withdrawal, except in the case of injury. If medical assistance is required, contact race management (+41 78 219 64 06) or dial the Swiss emergency number (144).

VU 100
If a runner fails to complete a stage within the cut-off time indicated, they can still spend the night at the hut on arrival with everyone. However, for safety reasons, the racer will not be allowed to restart the next day's stage. The rider will be brought back down with the organization's car the following morning, with the option of sleeping at the next Cabane and/or going to the finish line of the next stages, but without a race number.

VU 42
-
It will be necessary to reach certain refreshment stations within the cut-off times set by the organization, otherwise volunteers/officials/members of the organization will unfortunately forbid you to continue the race.
-
Our team will take care of getting you back to base camp (Le Châble), if the cut-off station is not at base camp.

IMPORTANT
Depending on the location of the refreshment point where you are stopped, you may have to walk several kilometers to reach a road accessible by vehicle. Some checkpoints are not accessible by car.
