How to get to Verbier and where to stay pre- and post-race?

Verbier

Verbier is a moutnain town situatied in the canton of the Valais, in the southwest of Switzerland. It is bordered by France to the west and Italy to the south. In the winter, Verbier is the main resort of the 4 Vallées ski area, which includes Thyon, Veysonnaz and Nendaz. Together, they offer over 410 kilometres of ski runs and 93 ski lifts. In summer, the area provides the usual alpine activities you would expect, from trail running, climbing, mountain biking, cycling, alpinism and hiking to more leisurely pursuits.

Comprehensive information on how to get to Verbier can be found in their website, see below.

Travel

The most environmentally-friendly option - and arguably more comfortable than flying or driving, is to take a train to Le Châble and then hop onto the gondola to the centre of resort.

You can also check out car-share services, such as Bla Bla Car. These allow you to find drivers looking to share the trip. If you have a car (or rent one out) you can also add your drive so others can find it.

From Geneva

The village is about a two-hour drive or 2.5h train-ride from Geneva airport.

From Chamonix

You can take a bus from Chamonix, which is about 1h 30min. You can also take a train, about a 2.5h scenic ride.

From Zurich

The transfer from Zurich to Verbier is a little longer (3h 30), but plenty of major airlines fly there. Again, from there you may take the train or rent a car.

From Milan

A train-ride from the Milan airport is about 4 hours away. The drive from there is around 3 hours.

The quickest way to get from London to Verbier by train is to go via Paris. The journey to Le Châble, which involves 3 changes, takes about 9h 30.

Pre / Post Race Accommodation

Accommodation throughout the race is included in the race package. However, if you would like to arrive early, or stay longer after the race, there are several options to consider.

We recommend using booking services such as Airbnb and Booking.com, with plenty of accommodation options to suit your needs.
